LOCAL UNION 812's HISTORY

 

Local Union 812 was first chartered as Local Union 239 on March 24, 1902.

The local under that number went under and was rechartered on December 1, 1904, which went under again, and was reinstated in November 1914.

The local union went under once again on April 1, 1936. However, it was rechartered on May 10, 1938, as IBEW Local Union 812, which remains active to this date.

Local Union 812 is located within the Third District of the IBEW, which includes Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Mr. Chrisman, Mr. Reeser, and Mr. Dieffenderfer are all deceased.

Mr. Neidig was appointed to the International Staff in 1992, as an International Representative within the Third District of the IBEW. In March 2001, Mr. Neidig was appointed Executive Assistant to International President Edwin D. Hill.

Mr. Ennis was appointed to the office of Business Manager when Mr. Neidig accepted the position of International Representative.

Mr. Ayrer was appointed to the office of Business Manager when Mr. Ennis accepted the position of Field Representative with Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, NECA.

Mr. Beamer was appointed to the office of Business Manager when Mr. Ayrer accepted the position of International Representative.
